Readers, welcome back! As I talked about how I will be introducing you to the online meeting fundamentals we follow at Rate My Meeting, in the first post, I talked about how Jargon is avoided and in the second about the importance of Tone and Volume, in the third I talked about how we, at Rate My Meeting are Empathetic towards all attendees, and in the fourth I talked about the necessity of Active Listening, and today, I'm back today with the 5th installment from the total 6 Fundamentals. So let's get to it!
Why would you require Clarity?
Not just for online meetings, one must have a clear structure for working things out. It helps to organize the vast amount of knowledge and structure it in a presentable form and gives an impression of reliability to the listener or the viewer.
Three tips to create a clear, organized and reliable presentation
1) Give Context
Giving context always helps in giving a head-start to the people attending the meeting and helps them understand the link between the topics discussed.
2) Convey the message
By conveying the message, one can help increase the clarity towards the meeting and the topic being discussed.
3) Conclude with Summary
Concluding with a summary helps attendees to put together all the information together in an organized and a structured way ensuring high amount of clarity.
4) Optional: End with an Open-ended Question
What if you end with a clear question, and trigger the person's thinking? (See, it works already).
At Rate My Meeting, we provide you the opportunity to receive the well-deserved feedback from the team attendees, which ensures that any discrepancy caused during the meeting is known to other attendees and for future, it shall be improved.
